random fall sampler

Along with a new roommate, one that actually speaks to me (who knew that was possible?), comes more opportunities to do stuff.  With sometimes more prodding than others, I've actually been to quite a few things like movies (Blind Side) and a play (Guys and Dolls, one of my guy friends was playing the lead) and even a few sporting events.  One of my goals is to go to at least one football, basketball, and baseball game while at Texas A&M, since sports are fairly integral part of the student experience that I had yet to do, and seeing how it is my senior year, this is my last shot.

So, I made it to one football game with my roommate Lisa and other friend Rachel in October, A&M vs Oklahoma State.  ...unfortunately, we lost, but we put up a good fight and it was an interesting game (well, as interesting as football can be), though I'll admit, my friends were much more upset that we lost than I was.  And another thing, although the week before and the week after the weather was in the 80's, we had a freak cold snap (for Texas, mind you) and it barely reached the low 50's and windy, kinda frigid for an October weekend ... but at least it wasn't raining or sweltering heat.

and of course, the real reason anyone goes to the football games, the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, the largest military band in the nation!

According to Lisa, I cook a lot ... but when your "cooking" consists of frozen burritos and chef boyardee, I guess it doesn't take much to count as cooking, so one night I made dinner for the both of us and she really wanted to document it, haha.  So here are just some pics from then.

One other event that took a little more prodding on Lisa's part was a large group date to go see a soccer game ... girls' choice. -_- I don't like even calling people to just find an address or something... me, ask someone out?!  definitely took a lot of pushing (including the numbers on my cell phone), but eventually even I found a guy to go with, and while I was doubtful about the whole thing, it wasn't all bad.  Donnie, the guy that went with me, ended up knowing a lot about soccer (aside from kicking the ball into the goal and not using hands, I don't know much about soccer), so that was nice because he kinda gave commentary for the whole thing.  I had forgotten my camera but Rachel took a few pictures.  and this game, we actually won!  Our women's soccer team rocked!

So, there's my a bit of my fall in a nutshell.

(ps. though these pictures make it seem otherwise, I really do have a lot of other clothes than just Texas A&M maroon t-shirts ... I just have a lot of those too, lol.)
