Rome, part ten - Piazza del Popolo, Spanish Steps

Okay, this is the last Rome post, honest. For our last afternoon in Rome, there were a few more places to see. This is the Piazza del Popolo where the three major roads of Rome intersect. There were lots of shops all around the square, but my friends seemed most interested in the Burger King across the street...


In the square, there is a church, the Santa Maria del Popolo. We only spent a little while in here (since everyone spent their time in line getting burgers), but I liked this small baroque style church. It had some beautiful sculptures of angels everywhere.

... some of the sculpted angels holding up the organ pipes, which were covered in bronze ivy leaves.
... shopping down the main streets of Rome, where some of the hottest (and expensive) fashions are, like Prada and Goucchi. ... my friends and I had fun looking at the merchandise and the well-dressed people coming out of the stores, but spent more time on the next street over where it was in our price range.
The infamous Spanish Steps - the most crowded tourist site I've seen my entire month here in Italy thus far. My friends really wanted to see them, but after seeing them, I'm not so sure what all the fuss is about. We didn't even go look at the church at the top... just sit on the steps, trying to not get stepped on by the stampedes of people.
